Just For Laughs Festival Edition

Ben Schwartz
The man behind Park and Recreation’s incredibly annoying Jean Ralphio uses his Tumblr to show off his stand up and various web series appearances.

Bo Burnham
With an eclectic mix of personal posts, selfies, and reblogged GIFs, Bo Burnham clearly gets Tumblr.

Hannibal Buress
A top-notch, deadbeat comedian with a top-notch blog. Be sure to check out his bit on sharing a name with everyone’s famous fictional murderer.

Hot Tub Show
Hot Tub Show is a comedy show running Monday nights in LA, hosted by Kurt Braunohler and Kristen Schaal. For those not in the know, Kristen is the voice behind Louise of Bob’s Burgers and Kurt recently pulled off a Kickstarter stunt that allowed him to pay a skywriter to write “How do I land?” in the skies of downtown LA. And now you’re in the know.

Nick Kroll
Nick Kroll’s Tumblr is the number one news source for The Kroll Show, Nick Kroll Jokes, and Nick Kroll’s favorite candy bars (Take 5, because they have pretzels inside).

rollingstone:

It was fifty years ago today that the Beatles’ released their first album, Please Please Me. In honor of that world-changing LP, we’ve compiled a list of the 100 Greatest Debuts of All Time.

A note on how we made the list: Albums got docked points if the artist went on to far greater achievements; conversely, we gave a little extra recognition to great debut albums that the artist never matched. We also skipped solo debuts by artists who were already in well-known bands. We focused, instead, on debuts that gave you the thrill of an act arriving fully-formed, ready to reinvent the world in its own image.

A Skin, A Night - the National documentary by Vincent Moon for your viewing pleasure.

the National will be unveiling a new documentary, “Mistaken for Strangers” at the Tribeca Film Festival in April directed by Tom Berninger, Matt’s brother. the doc is about the National’s 2010 High Violet tour and pretty much crafted out of a guy that just decided to take his camera on the road and record a bunch of stuff.

Matt happily states: “I was happy to give my brother whatever access he needed, I just didn’t expect this movie to include shower scenes.” …ladies…

download Running From the Sun - chromatics b sides to Kill for Love mixtape for free

2 things:

1. i’m emotionally fragile right now because of the walking dead. i just - i feel so drained.

2. the chromatics just released unused material from their Kill for Love sessions and they are giving it away for free on their soundcloud. this is what they say about it:

"Jet lagged & buzzing from Friday’s show in Paris, I couldn’t sleep…so I stayed up all night with Oko talking about color based dreams while blending these tracks together. Since the album came out, a lot of people on the road have been telling us they are curious to hear some of the unreleased music from the Kill For Lovesessions…Recorded November 2009 through December 2011, these songs were all mixed between 4 & 6 a.m. After hours of tracking at the studio in Montreal, we’d clear the channels on the mixer, open a bottle of wine, & feel around in the dark…working our way through the atmospheric elements & peeling back layers of rhythm…throwing the songs into the abstract pile & playing them while driving home in the snow. In Amsterdam right now trying to upload it from the hotel. Fingers crossed…”

so, in light of how this evening is going, why not get something nice out of it? enjoy. and also, ohmygod that episode. *tears.
