On April 2nd 2011, LCD Soundsystem played its final show at Madison Square Garden. LCD frontman James Murphy had made the conscious decision to disband one of the most celebrated and influential bands of its generation at the peak of its popularity, ensuring that the band would go out on top with the biggest and most ambitious concert of its career. … SHUT UP AND PLAY THE HITS is both a narrative film documenting this once in a life time performance and an intimate portrait of James Murphy as he navigates the lead-up to the show, the day after, and the personal and professional ramifications of his decision.

plus footage of james murphy putting on pants two feet at a time. so basically it had me at RED FLANNEL PAJAMAS.

such a great doc. truly, if you haven’t seen it, you should watch it now or soon. it will make you think about the endless possibilities of this world which we have yet to explore, especially in the worlds of the people we thought we knew.

Watched Parallel World, Parallel Lives…again. It’s a fascinating and fantastic Nova/BBC documentary about Eels frontman Mark Oliver Everett’s search to learn more about his quantum physicist father, Hugh Everett III (pioneered the parallel universes theory). If you’re an Eels (or E) fan it’s a must. All 6 parts can be found on youtube. Not new but definitely worth sharing…
